OVERVIEW
Offering an infinite range of adjustability in an ultra-lightweight package, our FLOAT® R Air Shox is the perfect lightweight and hassle-free suspension choice for your Sport/Recreational ATV. The FLOAT R is factory-valved specifically for each vehicle application, and its infinitely adjustable air spring and externally adjustable rebound allow riders to quickly and easily tune for any terrain condition. Inside its hard-anodized 6061-T6 aluminum body, the FLOAT R's Internal Floating Piston (IFP), separates the high-pressure nitrogen gas from the damping oil to ensure optimum, fade-free performance. Replacing your stock shocks with a set of FLOAT R shocks to your ATV not only dramatically increases its ride performance but also leaves about 6 lbs in the garage. Enjoy more time riding
These shocks require less rebuilds because the shaft seals are never exposed to the environment. Experience a smoother, more comfortable ride with gravity-defying bottom-out resistance every time you hit the dirt and dunes.

FLOAT Air Spring
No springs attached
FLOAT stands for FOX Load Optimized Air Technology; our unique and patented FLOAT air springs offer the perfect adjustable spring rate synergy to our refined, oil damped performance.
The spring rate is controlled by air pressure in the main body. Air pressure is infinitely adjustable anywhere from 50 PSI to 300 PSI, making the FLOAT the most progressive and adjustable air shock on the market — zero tools are necessary to change plushness.

FLOAT Air Spring
Air Spring vs.
Single Rate Coil Spring
Depending on the application, air shocks can offer a number of distinct advantages over their coil spring counterparts. While single rate coil springs offer a linear curve that can work extremely well when used in conjunction with today's advanced linkage designs, air springs give a progressive spring rate, offer infinite adjustability, and can provide significant weight savings (up to 6 lbs.)

Rebound Damping
Rebound damping controls the rate at which the shock returns after it has been compressed. The proper rebound setting is a personal preference, and changes with rider weight, riding style and conditions.
A rule of thumb is that rebound should be as fast as possible without kicking back or feeling bouncy. For slower rebound, turn the rebound adjuster knob clockwise. For faster rebound, turn the rebound adjuster knob counter-clockwise |
Notes:
VELOCITY SENSITIVE DAMPING CONTROL
One of the most significant components in any shock is its piston and valving...they are the heart of any damper. Every shock in our line-up utilizes our race-proven “Velocity Sensitive Damping Control” technology. Through the use of different piston flow designs and variable valving specifications, we are able to custom tune each shock for its intended application.
SAMURAI SEALING SYSTEM (SSS)
Working closely with one of the world’s leading seal suppliers, FOX has developed our unique dual-stage “Samurai Sealing System” for use on all FLOAT, FLOAT X and FLOAT X EVOL AirShox. The seals in the SSS are specifically designed from a special low temperature, highly durable material that scraps away snow, ice and debris while simultaneously keeping the seals lubricated for minimal friction.
